General Radiology (X-Ray)

General Radiology uses X-Rays to produce images of the inside of your body, allowing us to visualise and to make a diagnosis of the source of a problem (e.g.: fracture, arthritis, pneumonia, sinusitis, tumour, etc.) before moving on to more specialized examinations.

Radiography is an essential examination in many areas of medicine and, allows the study of the entire:

  • upper and lower limbs
  • head and neck
  • spine
  • skeleton and joints (fractures, dislocations, arthritis, malformations)
  • thorax (tuberculosis, pneumonia, lung cancer)
  • abdomen (gallbladder or kidney stones / bowel obstruction).

Digital radiography allows us to reduce the doses of X-rays used and to obtain better quality images that can be reviewed by a radiologist. The archiving of images, their transmission (PACS) and teleradiology now allows remote consultation of examinations performed at a given site. This is particularly relevant for the exchange of information with the various partners involved, such as: your referring physician and your specialist.
