Fluoroscopy-Guided Infiltration/Injection
We now have the capability to perform infiltrations under fluoroscopy guidance, a method that uses real-time imaging to precisely target the area to be treated. This technique allows for the administration of medications (anti-inflammatory or anesthetic) directly to the location where they will be most effective, which can potentially enhance relief from chronic pain, such as that in the joints (hip, knee, shoulder) or the spine (lower back pain, neck pain). It is also used to perform facet blocks, a targeted technique to alleviate joint-related pain in the back.
With this precise method, we hope to offer our patients a more targeted treatment that could be more effective and reduce the risk of side effects. It is important to note that the impact of this treatment may vary from patient to patient.
3D Mammography (Tomosynthesis)
With the acquisition of the tomosynthesis device, this technology will allow us to take cross-sectional images of the breast, providing a more detailed view than traditional mammography. This can potentially help detect breast abnormalities earlier, particularly in women with dense breast tissue.
3D mammography may also reduce the risk of false positives, meaning fewer additional tests for patients. However, since each case is unique, screening should always be interpreted by a healthcare professional, who can recommend the next steps based on the results.
